Glass Canopy Protection During Construction | Novafloor

Protecting a Glass Canopy During Ongoing Wall Works

A glass canopy can be complete while construction continues around it. On this project, the canopy had been installed, but the adjacent wall work was still in progress. Plastering, painting and sanding nearby could expose the glass to dust, paint splashes and accidental contact.

We covered the canopy with Novafloor protection boards before the next stage of work. The project photo shows the boards arranged across the canopy, with the sections joined to cover the finished surface. This temporary layer helps separate the completed installation from activity above and around it while other trades continue their work.

Protect finished surfaces through every stage

Surface protection is worth planning as soon as one part of a project is finished. Identify what remains exposed, consider the work still to come and arrange suitable temporary covering before tools and materials move through the area. The protection should be checked during the following work and removed when it is appropriate to do so.

Plan protection for a finished surface

Tell us which surface needs covering, its approximate dimensions and what work will continue nearby. We can help you discuss a suitable protection option for the site.
