Most scratches on a new floor appear during the renovation, not after it. Ceiling plastering, painting, tiling and built-in cabinet work often happen one after another on the same floor. That means wet plaster, paint drips, grit carried on boots, dropped tools and materials dragged across the surface. Fixing damaged tile, marble, hardwood or vinyl costs more and takes longer than protecting it before work starts.

The usual shortcut is plastic film or leftover cartons, put down by whichever trade arrives first. These tear, slide apart at the joins and leave gaps that nobody checks again. In occupied buildings the risk goes beyond the unit itself. On one of our office jobs, the route from the lift through the shared walkways had to be covered before any materials were moved in.

The Novafloor mat is a layered sheet, not a single film. The OPP layer is the top surface that takes foot traffic, spills and dust. The PE and high-density canvas give the sheet its body, and the EVA rubber base adds cushioning against impact. We list the mat as impact resistant, anti-slip, water resistant and flame retardant, and it comes in a roll format that is quick to lay.

Ordering from us usually works like this:

1. Send us the site details. Tell us the floor area, the floor finish (tile, marble, timber or vinyl) and the work planned. We then suggest a thickness that suits the work.
2. Get a roll count. We divide the area by the 150 sq ft per roll and add a margin for overlapping seams and trimming at walls.
3. Add accessories. This covers tape for the joins, corner guards for edges, and film for doors and walls.
4. Choose supply only, or supply and installation. You can lay the mats yourself, or have them laid for you.
5. Collect or receive the order. Collect from the warehouse yourself, or we send it by Lalamove or by courier anywhere in Malaysia.

We stock the items you need to fit and secure the mats, so one order can cover the whole job. Mats are only part of the work. The seams have to be taped, door frames and wall corners need edge guards, and the site needs clear rules for workers. The sizes below come from our product listings.

How many 150 sq ft rolls does your site need, and what sets the price?

The number of rolls is the floor area divided by 150 sq ft, plus an allowance for overlaps. The price then comes from four choices you make. For example, a 1,500 sq ft floor needs 10 rolls on paper, before overlapping seams and trimming at walls and door frames. We confirm the final count from your layout. Because we sell at wholesale prices from ready stock, larger orders and repeat orders for several sites are normal for us.

Layered OPP mat or plain film and cartons on a site with several trades

For a renovation where several trades work over the floor for weeks or months, a layered mat with a cushioning base gives more protection than a single sheet of film or carton. For a quick, dust-only job, a cheaper covering can be enough. The difference is in the layers. Film keeps out dust and paint but has no cushioning against a dropped tool. Carton cushions a little but soaks up water and moves at the joins. The Novafloor mat combines an OPP top surface with canvas and EVA rubber underneath.

Novafloor mats on real sites: six months of trades, an office lift lobby and a repeat order

About six months under several trades

The mats stayed down through ceiling plastering, painting, tiling and cabinet installation, with daily foot traffic and tools passing over them. By the end the sheets were worn and some edges had lifted. When the team lifted part of the covering, the floor in the area checked had no visible scratches. Read the six-month project.
